Today is a day that will live in infamy. What began as a battle for control of an empire has escalated into the death of a world, of a people’s cultural heart. The battle for Sian began when a massive fleet of Unkown Fighters along with Mercenaries employed by the FWL attacked Sian Capital of the Cappellan Confederation intent of capturing the Imperial palace. The Cappellan forces on Sian witness dozens of dropships coming in from different jumppoints all around the Capitol system. On the 30th the dropships arrived. However a group of large transports of unknown origin shocked the Capellean Generals as they launched massive force of 36 wings of omni fighters. In a valiant struggle the Cappellan Military responded by putting every available Aero fighter in the air, unfortunately they were too little too late. Vastly outnumbered the valiant Cappellan pilots were crushed by a numerically and technologically superior force In addition the much vaunted Cappellan Navy was nowhere to be seen; the vast Ceres Shipyards over Sian were empty and barren of any evidence of the Cappellan fleet.
After 13 hours of constant fighting the Cappellan Aerospace forces were dispersed and the Invaders landed under heavy fighter cover. On the ground the Blue Star Irregulars reinforced by Storm's Metal Thunder laid siege to the Celestial Palace.
Soon after the siege began a reinforced regiment of unidentifiable mechs landed to join the siege.
The battle reduced over half of the capitol to rubble as the invaders fought there way to the Palace. At the end of the month Cappellan forces still held the palace, but they wont be able to hold it for long

At the nearby Ares Mech factory FWL Omni Aero Fighters performed constant strafing in an effort to eliminate any Cappellan resistance. Even though the strafing runs were poorly aimed and executed they managed to disable the factory and inflict heavy casualties on the defenders. As FWL troops advanced on the factory the devastating counter fire they received from over 100 assault mechs, savaging their ranks and slowing their advance to a crawl. Forced to call upon reinforcements, they were finally able to advance when 2 Regiments of Power Armor infantry landed and secured the perimeter around the Mech Factory.

The Boeing Aero Factory was also high on the list of FWL targets as it represented a threat to their control of the skies. The tranquil skies over the factory were soon torn when Omni Fighters began strafing and bombing runs that completely wrecked the facility and laid waste to the regiment of assault mechs hiding within. Return fire was less than impressive before the Assault Mechs were destroyed and the 2 regiments of Power Armor Infantry quickly secured the area and began salvage operations under fire from the remaining pockets of Cappellan resistance.

Just as the FWL victory seemed at it’s highest the Cappellan High Command schemed to destroy all that the FWL had gained. As the first elements of the FWL army entered the Celestial Palace complex a high speed dropship tore into the sky, on board were the Chancellor and his General staff. The remaining Cappellan aerofighters launched with them, harrying the FWL fighters and allowing the Chancellor to escape the FWL trap. On the ground however a single message was broadcast across all channels by the head of the Maskirovka; "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." At that signal the vast stores of nuclear weapons underneath the Celestial Palace were detonated in a nuclear maelstrom which shattered the industrial, urban and cultural heart of the Cappellan Confederation. In one searing instant more than 10 million Cappellans lost their lives as the Chancellor forced his people to make the ultimate sacrifice. It is not surprising that following this act of desperation the Confederation disintegrated shortly after, with the FWL, TC, MOC and St. Ives each grabbing a slice of the poisoned Cappellan Pie.

The Final Solution: the ruins of Sian after the Chancellor's Final order. In the distance a few scattered pockets of resistance put up a vain stream of fire against the constant Omni-fighter waves that control the skies.
