Lyran Mercenaries in state of Flux!

The Lyran Civil War has spilled over from its beginnings on Tharkad into a conflagration that threatens to consume all in its path. On the world of Romulus several Lyran Commonwealth RCT's stood ready to deploy to the Raider Zone in response to the continued attacks by Raiders. Now they instead turn their weapons on each other in an attempt to seize this strategic world. The 1^st and 2^nd Lyran Strikers were quick to declare their loyalty to the Donegal Confederacy, seeing it as a continuation of the Archons legacy. On the opposing side however stood the 3^rd Lyran Strikers who instead declared their loyalty to the New Commonwealth and prepared for the inevitable assault.

For 2 long weeks the 3^rd Lyran Strikers proved their mastery of their former comrades time and again as they led a cat and mouse chase through the frozen northern wastes of the world. However each engagement continued to wear down the 3^rd Strikers, and when the 3^rd Lyran Regulars(Redesignated the 1^st Confederate Reserves) arrived the fate of the 3^rd Strikers was sealed. 8 days after the arrival of the 3^rd Confed Reserves the last Strikers were defeated in a pitched battle outside of Outpost 347, their last existing supply depot.

As the Lyran Commonwealth's Civil War winds down the question of the large numbers of mercenaries employed by the LC comes into question. Undoubtedly due to the questionable loyalty of his own troops if his actions ever came to light Archon Ryan Steiner hired several mercenary groups as sort of his own personal guard. Among their ranks are some of the best mercenary groups in the Inner Sphere; The 21^st Centauri Lancers, Gray Death Legion, Northwind Highlanders, 12^th Vegan Rangers and Hansen's Roughriders. Already there are rumblings among the Highlanders for a return home regardless of which realm claims their services. In addition the Gray Death Legion has declared its fealty to the New Commonwealth, deploying its forces to Coventry to defend that vital world. Meanwhile on Blair Atholl the 21^st Centauri Lancers stand waiting, holding out for a new contract in light of recent events. Hansen's Roughriders has thrown their lot in with the Donegal Confederacy while the 12^th Vegan Rangers await new orders and train their troops vigorously with the new high-tech equipment given to them by Archon Ryan Steiner.

Rumors persist that the Northwind Highlanders and 12^th Vegan Rangers are in contact with Comstar, however these rumors are <CENSORED BY PRECENTOR-X RHO DESIGNATION>

A lone Gray Death Legion Mech (of unknown type in Public Databases) stands guard outside of their temporary base on Coventry.
